For our corporate client with an international presence specializing in law, we are seeking a Head of SAP Competence Center.

The company offers a flexible hybrid work model, with the office located in Warsaw, Poland. The position is based on an employment contract.

Main Responsibilities:

The SAP Team is divided into three areas: Functional Consultants, Development & BI, and the Basis team. They manage the technical SAP platform, ensuring it evolves through projects and change requests while maintaining system security and integrity. The SAP system within the firm handles legal matters and their associated financials.

  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to develop a roadmap that meets the firm’s financial and matter management objectives by delivering a modern professional management system.

  • Create and oversee the strategic direction for SAP, including exploring opportunities to integrate more capabilities from external systems back into the SAP platform.

  • Guide the firm through simplifying SAP systems and strategically position the system to fulfill its intended purposes.

  • Design processes and an operating model that ensure timely delivery of all SAP tasks, including setting agreed timescales.

  • Develop a resource model that supports the portfolio of work while accommodating BAU and urgent requests.

  • Advocate for SAP solutions and integrations with major software platforms and finance-adjacent processes (matter opening, pricing, reporting, HR, etc.).


Role Expectations:

  • Lead transformation programs such as migrating from SAP ECC 6.0 (on-premise) to Suite on HANA hosted on a Hyperscaler cloud environment (preferably Azure).

  • Transition ECC6.0 to S/4HANA, leveraging opportunities like data cleansing, reducing complexity, customization, and creating new/replacement capabilities.

  • Work with third-party products within the SAP ecosystem, such as Readsoft AP, Intapp Time Recording, Jedox, and Tableau.

  • Foster a culture of innovation and bring excitement to the firm with new capabilities that offer a competitive edge.

  • Develop a roadmap with key stakeholders that achieves the firm’s financial and matter management goals via a modern professional management system.

  • Make strategic decisions regarding SAP’s Roadmap, including RISE with SAP or Hyperscaler private cloud, in collaboration with Architecture and other functions.

  • Communicate effectively with various stakeholders up to the senior executive level.

  • Manage different business teams and their priorities to ensure clear communication of request timelines.

  • Engage in a strong community with key contacts in SAP and/or consultancy firms specializing in SAP delivery.

  • Demonstrate proven performance in managing deliverables amidst conflicting priorities.

  • Be performance/KPI driven and provide transparency through reporting.

  • Pursue continuous improvement and automation for a consistent and high-performing experience.
